Biographical Sketch:
Stu is a gaming lawyer and an accountant. He advises the owners of top Internet poker brands, skill games operators, casinos, auction sites, bookmakers, media companies, professional poker players, and entrepreneurs in the gaming and social media sectors. Stu is regularly consulted as a tax expert by domestic and international practitioners on IPOs, cross-border structurings, and surplus and distribution planning. He has appeared as a commentator on Canadian and international gaming issues (including on Under the Gun, This Week in Poker, and CEM Podcasts) and has been published widely on gaming and tax matters (including in the Canadian Tax Journal, Gaming Law Review and Economics, and the McGill Law Journal). Stu is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario, and the International Masters of Gaming Law.

Mr. Hoegner is a member of both the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada and a member of the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario. As a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law, Hoegner brings years of experience in areas ranging from gaming operations and compliance to negotiations and management of intellectual property portfolios. Most relevant to the CBG weekend is Mr. Hoegner's strong knowledge and experience with internet gaming and multi-jurisdictional compliance.
